PizzaLuxe, the Paul Goodale-owned, premium fast casual concept, is to enter transport hubs after signing a new agreement with SSP.

Under the new agreement the company will work with SSP to develop and operate new format fast casual counters across the travel concession operator’s UK and Ireland estate.

The first franchised site under the new deal will open in early 2018. Beyond this, further openings will follow within SSP’s Network Rail locations.

PizzaLuxe will seek to leverage the opportunity presented by the new deal to raise funds to further develop their core-owned estate

The new sites will build on the success of the company’s Leeds Trinity store, opened in 2013, which has delivered +54% like-for-like sales growth for the 12 months to December 2017.

PizzaLuxe Leeds has just agreed a new long-term lease with Land Securities, which will see them relocate to new premises within the highly successful Trinity Kitchen scheme in early 2018.

This format will form the basis of the new units to be developed by SSP.

SSP Business Development Director Andy Webb said: “Premium, fast service pizza is not always an easy category to deliver. We (SSP) have been attracted to PizzaLuxe by the visually distinctive approach taken to provide a premium, fresh yet fast customer offer. We are really impressed with the very high quality of their product.”

Goodale said: “SSP have been a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to our partnership and the very exciting times ahead. Our pizzas are delicious, and I am delighted that a lot more people will now have the opportunity to enjoy them.”
